Easter 2014

We were graced with another beautiful weekend to celebrate Easter. Our kids were happy, fed, sugared AND totally on board with wearing the same shirt. Totally cool, right?

We spent the morning at an Easter Brunch at Ironstone Vineyards in Murphy's. The boys hunted for eggs, we drank bottomless mimosas. Everyone was happy.

We spent the afternoon with these sweet cousins. All in all, a great little Sunday!

*Our boys are currently hootin' and hollerin' off their sugar high in their room, and Nick and I are vegging on the couch eating their candy. Who gets the last laugh now?

Easter Weekend 2013

 

Easter weather...you never know what you're going to get. We celebrated with family on Saturday and ended up having a really beautiful day. Nick's brothers came over, along with my in-laws for brunch. It was fun seeing all the babies together and how much they have grown in a few short months. The older cousins did an egg hunt. Charlie is a tad bit emotional, especially when there is candy on the line. He threw a pretty epic tantrum over an orange egg..."becaaaaause orange is my favorite!" Besides the obvious, it was a good time.

It rained on Sunday so we woke up slow, got a workout in, worked around the house, Nick baked cookies and bread (I know, a catch, right?),we played "hide the empty easter eggs" about twenty times and finished off the day with a family trip to Lowe's. But the real highlight of the weekend...that basketball team and those men swimmers. It's great to be a Michigan Wolverine. Go Blue!

Easter 2012

I was a little unsure about doing the whole Easter thing. He wasn't that into the Christmas process, so I wasn't convinced that he would understand the looking for eggs concept. But on Wednesday, I pulled up Amazon and allowed my free two-day shipping to deliver on the goods.

Yesterday, we spent the day with Nick's family. He searched for dyed eggs and was having so much fun. The twins were helpful, allowing Charlie to find the "easy" eggs. But next year, he'll have a little more competition when Olivia and Esther start throwing elbows. Maybe we'll have a "difficult" and "easy" category with the searches.

Today, he was a old pro, conquering his egg hunt in under ten minutes. He loved the eggs with M&M's and matchbox cars but thought the marshmallows were gross enough to pass onto Daddy.
