I like wedding magazines, I admit, they are almost as fun to read as US Weekly or People. I've also started to get into the wedding spirit. What's the wedding spirit? It is sort of like the Christmas spirit except you don't do nice things for other people, just for yourself.
I still go through moments of insecurity, because our wedding is small, I am scared it will also be trashy (i.e. Pamela Anderson & Kid Rock). But the more time we spend planning, the more it just seems like it's going to be "us." It has actually become sort of fun. Yesterday we met with the manager at Grounds Restaurant and we got to do a mini Calaveras County wine tasting to pick local reds and whites for our Friday night dinner. We continued down to Vina Moda (our venue) and tasted the wines to be served at our ceremony, they have a wonderful Zinfandel! We took another tour of the Villa (our dinner location) and they've finished this beautiful basement/wine cellar. We really scored with this town and this location!
We've also picked out our wedding invitiations, colors, flowers, and the caterer(www.lilaandsage.com).
Now when I say "we" I mean "me" because Nick has a few jobs and he hasn't made very much (if any) progress on them. I can hear my dad right now "If you want it done right, do it yourself."
He did do a wonderful job planning our honeymoon, which involves a little road trip down the coast of California with stops in Santa Barbara, Avilia, and Carmel (not Indiana)! Yay, a vacation!
