Decembery Things...

Another awesome weekend in unseasonably warm and sunny California. Have I bragged about how awesome the weather has been lately? Oh, I'd say its pretty hard to beat 300 sunny days a year (avg. for the foothills) but the end of 2011 is making a pretty good run at it. We haven't had a bit of precipitation, well unless you count that one day we had a high fog roll in, for the entirety of winter.
And 60's people. SIXTIES!
The only thing I'm kinda bummed about, is how little action my new Sorel rain boots have gotten...

So who doesn't love a December wedding when it is 65 and sunny?

But let me begin with how amazing our friends the Sealock's are...they took in our little bundle of toddler craziness and babysat this weekend. They were so great, spoiling Charlie, hanging out at the park, going on walks and straight up wearing him down so he slept like a champ. And I'm also going to send a shout out to MacGruber, their lovely doggie, who shared the love for the weekend and bullied him only when he needed it. Thank you Jessica and Wally!

Ah, the wedding! We spent Saturday celebrating Nick's cousin David and Annika's wedding day in Occidental. Occidental is this really cool, tiny town off the northern coast. If you are looking for a romantic getaway, I would definitely suggest this little town, buried in the redwoods and no cell phone service, so you have no other option to focus on your significant other. But as our luck would have it, we didn't have to focus on each other, but instead a beautiful bride and Nick's (extremely fun) extended family!
And I have no pictures to show for it...

We made it home just in time for the last Santa Train of the weekend, Railtown in Jamestown is just a few minutes from our house. And we got to do a six mile out and back on the real train (Movie Queen was her name) and meet Santa! Charlie absolutely loved the train, now Santa...not so much. He was literally shaking for twenty minutes after the big guy visited our section, hope he doesn't get coal this year!
Sidenote: Railtown is threatening to shutdown, due to lack of federal funding. And just as I wanted to start a Christmas tradition. All the more reason for us to support our state and national parks in 2012!

Poor guy, maybe next year!
and recovering.
