Ahhh...another pregnancy post.
Although, with only eight weeks to go, it could be my second/last post on being pregnant this time around. My one regret from my last go 'round was not taking enough pictures of the bump, so instead of the two I took last time, I have now taken three. I also posted at 32 weeks with Charlie, so why shouldn't I just start with the sibling comparisons in utero...give them something to rival about.
If you know anything about me, you know that I thrive on predictability. Knowing what to expect, makes me one happy wife and mama. So in that case, this pregnancy has been a lot easier. My only really hiccup last time was the unmedicated kidney stone I had to endure at 28 weeks, but besides that, both of my pregnancies have been pretty similar and easy.
All my doctor's visits have been uneventful this time around, except for a tiny concern over the baby's abdomen size at his 20 week ultrasound. We scheduled a 30 week ultrasound just to double check things, and he is doing great. It seems, as if, he's just going to be a bigger baby than Charlie.
As far as the level of activity in utero, this one has Charlie beat, hands down. I do think this baby is just bigger/longer that is why I feel so many more movements but like I've said from the beginning, he seems just to be a bruiser. He's been taking his big brothers kicks and elbow jabs for eight months...he is going to come out fighting (like most second borns do, right?).
I do feel like I have been sleeping worse this time around, and I can't decide if it is because I have more rest time during the day, because I am working less or just because I can't get comfortable. Either way, it's all in preparation, right?
As far as workouts go, I am still running about 12-15 mi/wk, walking about 8 mi/wk and swimming three times/wk. I do remember that I had stopped running at 32 weeks with Charlie and I will probably start walking a lot more in the coming weeks, just because of the added pressure to my bladder.
My weight has been pretty similar also, although I did start off a few pounds heavier. It has been coming on a little different, last time, I had gained gradually, and this time I am gaining in big spurts. Either way, it's been coming on, I had gained 18 pounds at my 31 week doctor appointment.
Nick and I are getting excited, but I seem to be a little more fearful this time around. Maybe because I know how hard this whole parenting thing really is, especially those first three months. Only time will tell!
