“Thus may the 4th of July, that glorious and ever memorable day, be celebrated through America, by the sons of freedom, from age to age till time shall be no more. Amen and Amen.”
-Virginia Gazette 1777

Did you know that fireworks are illegal in Tuolumne County? With over 800 wildfires running amok in this state and 4 firefighters at our party, we celebrated illegally until neighbors and the sheriff brought our fun to an early end.

I learned a few things this 4th of July...
  • Mojito's take a lot of mint, limes and time!
  • Did you know mint grows like crazy in this county, and sometimes you have to cut it back with a weed wacker.
  • The Decleration of Independance was actually signed on July 2nd!
  • Sparkler's aren't what they used to be...
  • Some things are just more fun in "private"
