My Happy Place

I hate crowds. Really, I hate amusement parks, traffic and night clubs. But my happiest place in the world is the Big House with 109,000 of my closest friends.
I drove into Ann Arbor on Friday morning and I got goose pimples. It was the best feeling in the entire world. I had a giant smile on my face and I was driving, by myself! Being part of something like Michigan football is incredible, exciting and heartbreaking. I watched the Notre Dame game 2 weeks ago and I started crying. (Side note: I've only cried once before and that was watching IU basketball in the final four...it might have been because my dad was aggressively yelling at the TV)
Saturday's first half was very similar to the ND game, Threet couldn't throw the ball and the receivers couldn't catch it! We had two types of people around us...let's call one "negative nancy or NN" and the other "postive polly or PP". NN was a loud mouth and drunk. He booed the team and was a total fair weather fan. PP was really excited, so excited he had to eat his hot dog fast so he wasn't eating when we started scoring. As far as I can see, this is a rebuilding year for my football team and instead of crying when they lose, lets just be excited for when they win!

The Detroit Free Press said it was the biggest comeback in Michigan football history, Mitch Albom said it was a "comeback for the ages", they say "don't count out Michigan". But I am going to tell you that happiness is directly related to our expectations. PP didn't have expectations, he was just happy to be there. Me too, in my Big House. Go Blue!
