pre-Winter-itis

My title implies that I have a Winter disease before if even starts...
I do know it isn't winter yet. I also know that life is all atwitter about Fall happenings, like football and pumpkin spice lattes. Both of which, I love. BUT. I just cannot, for the life of me, understand while people love a season that leads to the season of death???

I really hate winter. I hate thinking about the days getting shorter and darker and colder. Did I mention, colder? Because I really hate being cold.  Our "Winter" out here is called "Spring" in Michigan, so I really can't complain, but it is still cold enough that I am cold ALL THE TIME.

I actually started this post with the intention of sharing our Fall happenings, which made me think of (dun, dun, dun) Winter. So here goes, our Fall happenings...
In my favorite format, BULLET POINTS!
  • I, along with the rest of my facebook feed, love all things Pumpkin. I made this spiced pumpkin bread last weekend and the family is loving the results.
  • My work is going really well. I love my class. I love having new challenges and problem solving daily. I do miss my kids and our little home life, but who doesn't have a "grass is always greener" story to tell? I do have a donor's choose page, if you are interested in donating your monies before the end of the year.
  • Check out this video. I totally had the ugly cry watching it. I'm a sucker for human interest sports stories.
  • Nick carved pumpkins today. I complimented him on how much better he did last year.
  • People keep telling me that Mack is turning one this week. Ugh, shut the hell up! Just like every other thing that makes me sad, I'm pushing it to the back of my brain until it disappears. Thank you, family for my coping skills!
  • Charlie rode the Hurst Ranch train sixteen times in the span of one hour. Mack ate his weight in raspberries.
  • The End. Happy Fall Fun! (see how I turned that around?)
