You could call it camping.

Remember when I blogged about that horrible birthday camping trip? And I said--and don't quote me--that I wouldn't camp again until my kids could wipe their own asses...

Well, I lied.
We made a reservations at the KOA in Petaluma. It's spring break, why not go all out? But, because it's March and the weather is still a bit unpredictable, we got a cabin. Kinda lame, but actually kinda awesome.
Petaluma is about 30 miles north of San Francisco and 30 miles west of Napa. It was a pretty beautiful drive made up of vineyards, dairy farms, and green rolling hills. We tortured our children and made them look out the window the whole drive. Look! Cows! Horrible, right?
It rained on and off for the entirety of the trip, so we decided to go straight to Lagunitas Brewing Company and drink beer. (They are opening a taproom in Chicago, Midwest friends!--you're welcome.)
Parent Tip: Drinking is the only way to survive a "vacation" with small children.
Can you tell how much fun they're having?

And the rest of the trip involved a lot of eating, playing, driving, a bit of the Pacific Ocean and a few more microbrews
This slide over and over and over...
Fresh raw oysters...only the best for our boys.
Ask Charlie the highlight of his trip, "the 'Mores" Definitely the 'mores...
