Camping in Tahoe

...with the boys, was completely awesome and totally sucked.
The awesome...
Tahoe is beautiful in the summer. The lake is so clear and blue and serene. And the weather is mild, and the skies are bright (usually). We had planned on going for a little hike and relaxing around the camp, but the boys lived and died for the beach, so we planted ourselves in the sand and didn't really move until nap. Also, Charlie is at the perfect age for camping. He had so much fun. He rode his bike, went swimming, got dirty, skipped naps, played at the beach, ate s'mores, kick my butt at go fish and said "this is the best day ever" every day. Win!
The sucky...
You know when you travel a lot, and you get stuck in travel ruts, meaning you get delayed/cancelled like every f-ing time you're in the airport. Yeah, well we have theeworstcampingluckonthegoddamnplanet. No seriously, it rained/thunderstormed from noon-10pm each day. My weather app kept saying there was only a 40% chance, but the radar told a different story, like as in, it was lit up like a frickin christmas tree for 10 hours straight. And really, there are only so many bars you can take your kids into. SO we hung in the tent--in a puddle, eating uncooked s'mores. Win!
Bonus: We had beautiful sunsets and an accidental run-in with our camping buddies ole Wally and Jessica, which resulted in lots of laughter despite the weather.
